James V Gillen

James V. Gillen, 88, formerly and longtime resident of Waldwick, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022.  Jim was the beloved husband of the late Rita Gillen (decd.), loving father of Ed & Laura Gillen, Erin & Roy Fogelstrom, Michael Gillen, and Kim Gillen and proud grandfather of Logan, Aiden, and Dominique Gillen; Connor and Kyle Fogelstrom, and Nicholas and Joseph Gillen. Jim was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY with his sisters Marie (decd.) and Joan and his brother Ray (decd.). He attended Brooklyn Technical HS and served in the US Navy. He was a long-time associate of Hoffman LaRoche based in Nutley NJ. After retirement, he was an active volunteer at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ, and many other philanthropic organizations.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the wake which will be held at the Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 3:00-8:00pm.  The funeral mass will be held at the same location on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10:30am.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sisters of Charity-Halifax Nova Scotia https://schalifax.ca/ Mt.
