JoAnn (Grayson) Sokoloff

JoAnn Grayson Sokoloff, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2022. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Joseph H. Sokoloff on February 2, 2020. 
JoAnn was born in Brooklyn and later moved to suburban Philadelphia, where she attended and graduated from Temple University where she received a degree in Communication. Shortly thereafter she met her husband Joseph, married and moved to New Jersey where she worked as a bookkeeper and eventually received her Masters Degree in Sociology from William Paterson University. JoAnn resided in Wyckoff, NJ for 42 years before relocating to Franklin Lakes, NJ, where she resided until her Passing. JoAnn had a great love of gardening, raising hybrid roses and was a voracious reader. She was one of the most familiar faces at the Wyckoff, NJ Public Library for over 45 years. One of her greatest daily pleasures was reading the New York Times cover to cover, seven days a week. JoAnn had character and morals beyond reproach and was beloved by all who knew her as an incredibly well read, bright, insightful, tough and loyal person. Perhaps most important for her time, and until the end of her life, JoAnn was a staunch believer and supporter of women’s rights and equality for all. JoAnn is survived by her daughter Amy Sokoloff, Daughter in-law Jeanette Luciano (Wife of Amy) and her son Douglas Sokoloff. 
She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her children and friends and her best friend, Anna Geronimo.
