Joan G Hays

Joan G. Hays, 91, passed away on October 3, 2022.  She was born on May 30,1931 in Brooklyn, New York to Julia and Louis Graham.  She was a current resident of Mahwah, New Jersey where she resided for the last 37 years.  She met Joe, the love of her life and they were married in 1953.  They shared a very special marriage for 58 years.  Joan worked at IBM in a managerial position for many years and during her illustrious career received numerous awards for excellence in service to the company.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly and for whom she loved to cook for, as she was an excellent chef.  Joan is survived by her daughter Laurel Gerety (Hays), Laurel's husband, Kevin, 6 grandchildren; Ryan, his wife, Lori, Brent, K.C., Taylor, Pierce, and Jenny; one great granddaughter, Phoenix, and many nieces and nephews, who she loved very much.  

The family will receive friends on October 9th, from 4-6 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, New Jersey.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on October 10th at 10:30 am at St. Paul's Church, 200 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey, NJ 07446.  All to meet at church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations in the memory of Joan to be sent to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, www.stjude.org
