John Hovey

John H. Hovey, 87, died peacefully at his home on December 30, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa, and their three children – Elena, Joanne and Raymond. Six grandchildren - Kathryn & Josh, Jacqueline & Chris, Ted & Elizabeth, Garrett, Austin, and Pierce. And seven great grandchildren, Peyton, Grayson, Colby, Charlotte, Grace, Eloise, and Brewster.

John grew up in the Midwest before moving to Wyckoff in 1945. He graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology. During college, he met the love of his life, Rosa. Together, they have lived in Wyckoff where he started many successful businesses and was deeply involved with charitable organizations in Paterson serving the children, the poor and the sick. Memorial Day Nursery, St Joseph’s University Hospital Medical Center, Alexander Hamilton Academy, Paterson YMCA, the United Way of Passaic County, and Stevens Institute of Technology are among the many agencies he led and supported. John enjoyed old cars and touring with his wife, family and the many friends they shared.
