John Warren, III Obituary

John E Warren, 77, residing in Mahwah, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home in his “happy place” Sunday April 13, 2025.  John was born in Queens, New York to loving parents, Dorothy and John Warren and two sisters Christine and Patricia.  The family moved to Palisades, New York, where John was raised and where most of his colorful childhood stories were based. His kids always joked that dad grew up in the “olden days” before plumbing because the home he was raised in included an outhouse. After John graduated high school he honorably served in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of the Admiral’s Personal Security Detail, overseeing and leading protective operations for senior naval leadership —again if you knew John several stories stemmed from this chapter in his life. After returning home John met his first wife Dorothy Williams and welcomed their daughter Nicole in 1978; later John would go onto marry Joan Tietjen and welcomed Jacqueline and John IV, residing in Oradell, NJ. John had a way with words and could command the attention of everyone in the room with his charisma, charm and creative storytelling abilities, which later made for a very successful career in sales. John loved his cars, especially his canary yellow Corvette. If you knew that car you most likely burned your legs on the side pipes. John was an avid sports fan; any sport that was on he would watch but especially loved the Giants and the Yankees. He also loved his trips to Las Vegas and the Caribbean. John and his larger-than-life personality and contagious laugh will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on through his children Nicole McAuley (Christian) her children, Brody and Raquel, Jacqueline Giblin (Casey) and their daughters Madeleine and Gemma and John IV (Jaclyn) and their four children John V, Annabelle, Scarlett and Luke.
