Joseph P. Sheridan

Mr. Joseph P. Sheridan died on August 25, 2024 at Villa Marie Claire hospice in Saddle River, NJ. He was 91 years old.

Visiting in the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff will be on Sunday September 1 from 2 pm to 6 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Magnificat Church, Kinnelon, on Monday September 2 at 10:30 am.

Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Mr. Sheridan graduated from Saint Michaels High School in Union City, NJ. After high school he joined the United States Army, where he served in Germany for two years. He then joined Local 560 in Union City, where he served as shop steward and business agent until he was elected first to Trustee and then Vice President. After retiring from Local 560, he went on to assist as a business agent for Local 284 laundry workers in Jersey City, where he finished his career as Vice President.

Mr. Sheridan lived in Lyndhurst, NJ before moving to Smoke Rise in Kinnelon in 1972. He was a devout member of Our Lady of the Magnificat in Kinnelon.

Mr. Sheridan is predeceased by his loving wife, Ann Sheridan, his parents Joseph and Mary Sheridan, and his sister Kathleen Sheridan. He is survived by his children; Mark and his wife Jodine; Kathleen Wanamaker and her husband Charles, and four beloved grandchildren, Kevin Sheridan, Kelly Wanamaker, Brian Wanamaker and Kyle Sheridan.
