Josephine B Murray

Josephine Murray, 85, of Washington Township, NJ peacefully passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Manhattan, NY, she resided in Paramus where she enjoyed her time employed by the Paramus school system nurturing the children as if they were her own. She enjoyed her final years of retirement in Washington Township.

She was married to the love of her life Gerald for 58 wonderful years until he passed in 2015.

They enjoyed an amazing life together, raising their children and enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her devotion to her faith, her sense of humor and love of her family guided her entire life.  A faithful parishioner of St. Luke R.C. Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, she was also a devoted member of the Lukans.  

Loving and devoted mother of Joseph Murray, Maureen Lermond and her husband Kevin, Patricia Carroll and her husband William, and Kathleen Winkler and her husband Kenneth. Cherished grandmother of Brianne and her fiance’ Jason, Nicole and her husband Larry, Christopher, Caitlin, Kelly, Amanda, Meghan, Ryan and his fiance’ Jordan, and Kristen.  Cherished great grandmother of Nathan, Logan and Gianna.  She is also survived by her sister, Sr. Mary Jordan, and predeceased by her brother Michael.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ.  A funeral mass celebrating her life is 11:00 am on Monday, March 29 at St. Luke R.C. Church, 340 North Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Luke's Cemetery in Ho-Ho-Kus.
