Judith Anne (Fischer) Hildebrandt

Judith “Judy” Hildebrandt, born on August 14, 1940, lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by love, family, and lifelong friendships. She resided in Allendale, New Jersey and spent cherished time in Anna Maria Island, Florida. Judy was raised in Fair Lawn, NJ.

Judy was the beloved wife of Paul Hildebrandt and a devoted mother to seven children: Terry Schroeder (Jim), Susan Salek (Bill), Kirsten LeBlanc, PJ Hildebrandt (Krista), Lisa Fallon (Jim), and Karyn Hildebrandt. She was predeceased by her son Marc Demarest.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to fifteen grandchildren: Kaila Schroeder (Eli), Matthew Schroeder (Yvonne), Amy Struck (Jay), Michael Salek (Archana), Billy Salek, Lexi Spadola (William), Chelsea Suits (Nick), Robbie Hildebrandt (Amayah), Carson Hildebrandt, Paul Fallon (Erin), Nicole Fallon, Heidi Fallon, Grady Kaminski, Sophia and Grace Hildebrandt. Judy was also blessed with many great-grandchildren with more on the way.

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Wallace and Frances Fischer, and her brother, Bruce Fischer (Barney).

There are no words that can truly capture the fullness of her life, but what we can say without hesitation is that she embraced and treasured the gift of family.

To her children, she was the foundation. Their biggest supporter and perennial safe place. She loved her children fiercely and completely – and she made sure they knew it. Whether it was cheering them on, helping through hard times, or simply being there in the way only a mom can be, Judy put family first.

And then came the grandchildren and great-grandchildren – her greatest joy. She took such pride in each and every one of them. Being “Grammy,” “Mimi” and “GG” were treasured titles of her favorite roles, and she filled those roles with the same love, warmth, and generosity that defined her entire life.

She treasured summers spent at Wide River Camp on Long Lake, where countless memories were made with her children and grandchildren. Winters on Anna Maria Island were equally special, filled with sunshine, beach walks, and the simple joy of collecting shells and sand dollars at morning low tide.

Judy had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Playing games with grandchildren… Making Sinkers- a tradition at the lake… Always giving – for birthdays & holidays… where favorite foods were served, favorite wrapping paper chosen and no matter where she was a card was never forgotten.

Christmas was Judy’s favorite time of year. Every year was spectacular as Judy went all out with decorations along with an infectious spirit of giving, with Christmas cookies that started way in advance and given to way too many to count. A tradition of many years was volunteering at the Church Fair at Grace Methodist in Wyckoff, NJ. Judy’s generosity also included volunteering at The Depot for over 10 years creating long lasting friendships.

She adored her husband, Paul, and together they built something truly special – a life full of love, laughter, and connection. Their partnership was something their family and many others looked up to, and their love touched everyone who knew them. Judy had a spark that made her unforgettable – graceful yet strong, proud, magnetic, and warm. She had a remarkable ability to deeply connect with others and made friends wherever she went because she genuinely cared.

Judy was ultimately a force of nature. Not because she was loud but because she was present, loving, and deeply impactful.

Her legacy isn't just in the life she lived, it’s in the family she created, the love she gave, and the example she set. She shaped all of us in ways we are only beginning to fully understand.

Her family will miss her every day. But we will also carry her with us – in how we love each other, how we show up for one another, and how we live our lives.

Mom, thank you for everything. We love you forever.

The Hildebrandt Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff, 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery, Wyckoff, NJ.
