Julian Lee Mendrys

Julian "Jules" Lee Mendrys, 74, a lifelong resident of Wyckoff, New Jersey passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. Born in Passaic, New Jersey. Jules was dedicated to his craft as an auto mechanic, repairing vehicles on Goffle Road for his neighbors and friends throughout his life.

Jules was an avid fisherman and had a deep love for all animals in his life, especially dogs. Jules was also passionate about sports, with some of his favorite teams being the New York Giants, New York Yankees and the New Jersey Devils. 

He supported causes that were important to his beliefs. He valued quality time with his family, life long friends, and dogs that he cared for. He could always be found with an ice cold beer or a fishing pole in his hand.

In recent years, Jules and his brother Dean enjoyed taking Ember to the dog park as well as nature walks around the Haledon reservoir. 

He is survived by his beloved brother Dean W. Mendrys and wife Linda of Midland Park; his niece, Michelle Mendrys and husband Francisco Gonzalez; his nephew Dean J. Mendrys, and his wife Ashlee; and his great nephews Hudson and Grady. He was predeceased by his parents Julian O. in 1972 and Jean in 2009.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday March 11,2025 from 4pm -7pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481, Words of remembrance is planned for 6:45pm on Tuesday evening.
