Karl Pfeifer Obituary

Karl Pfeifer, 75, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024.

Born in Volkersheim, Germany, Karl immigrated to the United Stats when he was 18 and resided in Wyckoff for much of his life.

A baker by trade, Karl was an avid musician.  He was in a German band for many years, playing the baritone horn, trombone, his customized alpine horn, and he was the lead singer. Oftentimes, he was found singing and listening to his favorite German music around the house.

Karl was a beloved husband to Candace for 44 years, loving father to Eric (Melody) and Andrew, and cherished ‘Opa’ to his granddaughters Amelia and Elizabeth.

Along with his love of music, Karl was very passionate about soccer and passed this love down to his children and grandchildren.  He was a passionate Bayern Munich and German national team fan, staying true to his roots.  Karl’s love of his German heritage included him joining local German clubs, most recently Edelweiss Passaic.

More than anything, Karl was known for his kindness, gentleness, and warm smile.  He made the world a brighter place with his smiles and singing.  Karl now walks in heaven smiling down on us as he has gone home.  “Well done, good and faithful servant”
