Kathy will forever be remembered by her family and friends for her faith, compassion, sacrifice, and generosity.
She started off her career in the fashion industry and found her true calling as a New York City public school teacher in the South Bronx (PS49). Kathy loved her students and sought to truly make a difference in their world. She was more than a teacher to the children in her class - she became an advocate and role model to them. Kathy was loved by her friends and colleagues, who always saw her devotion to her students.
Kathy is survived by her sister Pera, brothers George and Steve, nieces Alicia, Irene and Claire, and nephew John. She is predeceased by her mother Elizabeth Stavroulakis and Marx Mitas.
