Kathleen Ann Voorman passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell whom she had been married to for 60 years when he passed in July, 2015.
Kathleen is survived by her three daughters, Donna Voorman, Sharon Snowberger (Norman) and Cynthia Moreno (Jesus), four grandchildren, Chelsea DuBey (Michael), Elyse Moreno, Travis Moreno (Candace) and Emily Snowberger, a great-grandchild, William DuBey, and a sister-in-law Lorraine Kortenhoeven (John). She was preceded in death by her sister Anna Mae Haalstra (Siebo).
Kathleen was born in Paterson, New Jersey to Richard and Elsie of Hawthorne, NJ. She graduated from Eastern Christian High School and subsequently started her career in banking. She married Russell in 1955 and they settled in Midland Park where she put her career on hold to raise their three daughters. They were members of the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church for forty years. She was manager of the Midland Park First Jersey Savings and Loan for many years and enjoyed getting to know all of her customers. After retirement, they moved to Maryland to be closer to family.
She will be remembered for her love of singing hymns and playing the piano that touched the lives of many friends and family. She was kind and caring and always put others' needs ahead of her own. In her spare time she loved crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, and solving puzzles. She also loved being outdoors on her John Deere.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Lorien Mt Airy and Gilchrist Hospice for their kind and caring support.
