Dr. Kishore Ahuja was a beloved physician, devoted husband, and guiding light to his community, friends, and family. A man of quiet strength and deep compassion, he served as a role model to all who knew him.
As a physician, Dr. Ahuja possessed a profound understanding of the human body and the human spirit. Over the course of a long and distinguished career in New York and New Jersey, he cared for countless patients with skill, humility, and dedication. Medicine was never just a profession for him — it was a calling. He remained a lifelong student of the field, constantly absorbing the latest medical research so he could better serve those around him. To his patients and peers, he was a trusted source of knowledge and a tireless advocate for their well-being.
To say Dr. Ahuja was selfless is no exaggeration. He gave freely of his time, his energy, and his heart, with no concern for personal gain. His generosity touched the lives of many — patients, neighbors, friends, and strangers alike. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Kishore was also a lover of the world’s beauty and complexity. In nature, he found peace among plants and greenery. In the arts, he was drawn to painting, cinema, and most of all, music — especially the music of India. From devotional Bhajans to film soundtracks and bollywood songs, music was a constant companion and passion. Many evenings were spent in animated discussion about lyrics and melodies, often accompanied by Kishore’s own heartfelt singing after a few glasses of scotch. Though he built a life in the United States, India remained forever in his heart.
At his core, Kishore was a family man. His extended family — brothers, cousins, children, grandchildren — were always nearby and close to his heart. But above all, he was devoted to his beloved wife, Rita. Their bond began in medical school, sharing Cokes and riding a scooter, and only grew stronger through a lifetime together. Rita was his partner, his joy, his soulmate. Their love was constant and complete.
Dr. Kishore Ahuja is survived by his cherished wife Rita, his loving children Ashish, Kavita, Sabira, and David, and his adored grandchildren Krishna, Kaushalya, Jahaan, and Naya. His legacy of service, wisdom, and love will live on through them and through the many lives he touched.
