Learle VanEmburg

Learle VanEmburg, (nee Winters) 83, of Allendale, NJ passed away on Thursday April 24,2024

Born in Paterson, she was raised in Midland Park and resided in Mahwah before settling in Allendale. A woman with a quest for knowledge she received a bachelor’s degree from Cedar Crest College in 1962 and then went on to receive her master’s degree  from Regents College in Albany, NY.

Learle was a psychiatric social worker with the Rockland County Dept. of Mental Health for 25 years. Prior to that she was a supervisor for Christian Education for the Reformed Church of America for 25 years.

An active woman, she was a member of the Old Paramus Reformed Church , a flower arranger for Allendale Florist, the resident ambassador at Allendale senior living, and the recipient of numerous awards, a couple being Volunteer of the Year and the Resident Better Life Award. Learle's greatest passion was her doll collection. 

Beloved wife of the late George VanEmburg. Cherished mother of Learle Kilmer and her husband Charles.

In lieu of flowers donation in Learle's name may be made to Old Paramus Reformed Church 660 E.Glen Ave. Ridgewood,NJ 07450

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday April 30,2024 from  2-5pm with a 4:30pm service at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
