Linda Dalton Dries, affectionately known as Weizer, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 77 after losing her courageously fought battle with cancer on October 1, 2022. Linda was born on December 4, 1944 in Newfoundland, Canada to James and Catherine Dalton and emigrated to Fair Lawn, NJ as a child with her parents and siblings. She attended Fair Lawn High School and upon graduation attended nursing school in Morristown, NJ. Linda took great pride in her work as an RN. She spent a majority of her career as the office manager for Hackensack Digestive Disease Assoc. Linda is survived by her husband Robert and daughters Jennifer Donahue married to Peter Donahue and Shannon Hopkins married to Dave Hopkins. She was the beloved Nana to her grandsons; Colin, Owen, Quinn and Dalton. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her “boys”. She enjoyed yearly family vacations, summers spent on Long Beach Island and attending various sporting events, plays and concerts in support of her grandsons. Linda was a woman of strong faith who remained active in Corner Stone through Most Blessed Sacrament Parish. Linda was a strong, loving and inspirational woman who touched the lives of many. She was a very generous and giving woman who loved to open her home and share a meal with friends and family. Above all else she loved her family and her faith.
Visitation will take place at Vander Plaat Funeral Home 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, New Jersey 07481 from 4-7PM on Thursday October 6, 2022. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff, NJ. All to meet at church.
