Linda Gabriel

Linda Gabriel, 78, of Sayreville, NJ, passed away on Friday, May 16th, 2025. She was born in Englewood, NJ on November 6th, 1946 to parents Mary (nee Pastre) and Norman Gabriel and was raised in Tenefly, NJ. She has resided in Sayreville for the last 22 years.

Linda graduated from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY in 1968. She spent time in Africa volunteering with the National Peace Corps. She worked as a social worker in Paterson, NJ. 

Linda loved to sing and was an Alto in the Philomusica Concert Choir in East Brunswick, NJ.

She is survived by her brother, Jeffrey, of Mahwah, NJ; son Neil Carius of Chester, NY, and daughter Jill Carius Mowry of Phoenixville PA; and two granddaughters Cecilia and Genevieve. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 15 years, Rene Sampedro; and brother Kenneth of St. Augustine, FL.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 28th from 10am to 12pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home,  www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.  A Funeral Service will be celebrated immediately after.  

Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
