Mabel (Holland) Walters, age 94 (sixteen days shy of her 95th birthday), passed away from natural causes at her home in Franklin Lakes, NJ surrounded by her loving family on the evening of June 10, 2021.
Mabel was born on June 25, 1926, in Chicago, Il. She attended Chicago City Public Schools and earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois graduating as the Valedictorian of her class.
Mabel taught at Montessori school and volunteered her time as a teacher on the Indian Reservations in Scottsdale, Arizona. She loved gardening, crossword puzzles, learning, birdwatching, reading and traveled extensively to all 7 continents.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband Albert R. Walters (56 years young). She is survived by their 3 children: LTC Ret. Eric (SunCha), Jane, and Rebecca (Richard) Koenigsberg, along with her grandchildren Linda, Laura, Michael, Elizabeth, Christopher, Jennifer, Zachary, and Emily, nieces Linda and Sylvia, nephew Phillip, 7 grand nephews and nieces and 4 great grand nephews and nieces, and her faithful companion (Havanese) Little Jack.
Funeral arrangements were for immediate family only.
