Madeline “Maddy” (McShea) Tacconi, 94, passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2025. Maddy was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 26th, 1931 to parents Arthur McShea and Rose Madeline Henderson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Tacconi, and is survived by her children Anita (Joe) Sassano, Jack Tacconi, Claire (Ray) Jimenez, Bill (Brielle) Tacconi, and Dee (Reid) Cheyne, grandchildren, Ryan, Kaiti, Matthew, Brendan, Luke, Tristan, Olivia, Dale, Maddy & Will and her great grandchildren Ace, Maddy, John Patrick (JP), and Sloane.
Maddy & John moved from Flatbush, Brooklyn to Waldwick, NJ in 1963 where they raised their 5 children on Waldwick Avenue. She cherished her time in the Adirondacks and the Jersey Shore where countless memories were made with family and dear friends. Maddy dedicated her time to St. Luke’s parish where she was an active parishioner for over 50 years. Maddy was a humble soul who had a calming influence on all who she encountered.
The Tacconi family will receive friends and family on Saturday, September 13 from 10:00 to 11:00am at St. Luke’s RC Church, 340 N. Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423 with a mass to be held at 11:00am. Interment will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
