Margaret M Gautier

Margaret “Peg” McNary Gautier, 94, of Midland Park New Jersey passed away at her home on

November 11, 2023. Peg was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Lou, who passed

away July 28, 2003. She is survived by her two children, Andrew of Weston, CT, and Peter of

Washington, DC, daughters in law Kim and Rosa and five grandchildren, Amanda, Olivia, Isabel, Drew

and Natalie. Peg was born in Ohio and grew up on her family’s farm in Mechanicsburg. She graduated

from Ohio University, married in 1952 and lived in Brooklyn until moving to Ridgewood New Jersey in

1967. Peg had been employed in New York City by AIU (now AIG) until 1965. She worked for the

Ridgewood Board of Education, initially at Willard School, followed by 16 years at Somerville School.

She was an active member of West Side Presbyterian Church, sang in the Chancel Choir, acted in Hillside

Players, was a member of the College Club and volunteered at the Ridgewood Library. Peg was a loving

mother who adored spending time with her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 South Monroe Street, Ridgewood,

NJ 06450 on December 16, 2023, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes to Peg’s memory can

be sent to the West Side Presbyterian Church Music Program, 6 South Monroe Street, Ridgewood, NJ.
