Margaret Theresa Latterner, 89, of Waldwick, New Jersey passed away on Monday evening, August 4, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born December 21, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York and lived in Woodhaven, Queens before moving to Waldwick 48 years ago to be closer to her family and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Margaret Lasher, her Aunt Kitty, as well as her life-long best friends, Ruthie and Tom Major.
Margaret is survived by her husband and best friend Ramon Latterner, son Raymond, son Timothy and his wife Jerilyn, daughter Peggy and her husband Frederick Larson. Margaret is also survived by her grandchildren, Timothy, Courtney, Erik, Jamie, and Jesse, and one brother, Harry (Feller) Lasher.
Margaret, Margie, Mom, Nanny was a loving mother and grandmother who was happiest when her family was together. She spent many years raising her three children, and then spent many more years watching and raising her five grandchildren as well. Margaret was a beloved secretary at Waldwick High School, where she welcomed students and staff with a smile and unforgettable kindness. Margaret enjoyed spending her days with her husband and her family– going to her grandchildren's recitals, sporting events, and ceremonies, watching the Gameshow Network, or going out to an Italian restaurant for dinner.
Margaret was married to her soulmate, the love of her life, Ramon Latterner for 68 years where they raised their family, and showed us all the true meaning of unconditional love, tenderness, and playfulness. Margaret was a devoted Catholic, who spent her time leading by example with her unwavering ability to see the good in everyone and everything.
Nanny was a gentle, thoughtful, and kind soul with a great sense of humor who warmed the hearts of all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.
A viewing will be held August 10th from 2-5:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff and Margaret’s Funeral Mass will be held August 11th at 10:00 AM at the Church of Nativity in Midland Park.
