Maritza M. Bilodeau

Maritza Marina Bilodeau, passed away on May 23,2022, the 63rd anniversary of her marriage to the love of her life, Joseph Bilodeau. After many years of loving care she peacefully passed at home surrounded by her family. Mitzi was born in Santiago, Cuba on July 18, 1940. She was the daughter of Esteban and Eneida de la Torre. She moved to Manhattan at the age of 6 where she met and married the man who stole her heart on May 23, 1959 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. They created a beautiful life together filled with world travel and found joy in experiencing the food, music, and dance of different cultures. Their love blessed them with 5 cherished children, Monique Ross Urushadze, Michelle and Curt Post, Marlene and Wil Pons, Melinda and Chris Benson, and Ron and Laura Bilodeau. She was an adored Mimi to 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

        Visitation will be held on Thursday May 26,2022 from 3-5 PM at the Vander Platt Funeral Home,257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Friday May 27 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 25 Purdue Ave, Oakland, NJ. ALL ARE TO MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mitzi’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
