Marjorie G. Winters passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Marjorie grew up in Stamford, Connecticut and graduated from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) with a bachelor's degree in English. Marjorie met her husband, Arthur, in an art class at UCONN. After college they settled in Bergen county, New Jersey, and were married for 55 years.
Marjorie was a medical writer whose 30-year career included positions at major pharmaceutical companies such as Hoffmann-La Roche. She was a life-long member of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) and never missed their annual conference.
Marjorie's father was a professional violinist and she inherited his musical talent. Her soprano voice rang out in countless performances, from church choirs to amateur opera productions. Marjorie starred in the Roche Players production of Kiss Me Kate and loved the spotlight. She was also a member of the Ars Musica classical singing group for many years. In addition to performing with Ars Musica, Marjorie spearheaded a fundraising drive which raised thousands for college scholarships.
She loved cooking (the blintzes were incomparable), spending time with her many friends, knitting and jewelry-making. Marjorie is survived by her loving husband, Arthur, sons Daniel and Adam, and granddaughter Everly. Arrangements are under the care of Vander Plaat Funeral Home – Wyckoff.
