Mark Raines Obituary

Mark Allen Raines, born June 14, 1950, in Garland, Texas, passed away in October 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Raines; his daughter, Alina Albano; son-in-law, Michael Albano; and five cherished grandchildren: Luke, Brooke, Lucy, Anabelle, and Everett.

Mark was a proud Air Force Veteran (Major) and a retired Lieutenant of the Addison Police Department. He was recognized for his bravery and strength in his work with numerous awards and recognitions.

Mark was a skilled artisan in woodworking and made everything from birdhouses, to lamps, to Halloween decorations - basically anything his wife or daughter could dream up, he would find a way to build it. Mark had a passion for music with the ability to play songs by ear on the guitar and piano. He was an amazing cook, specializing in smoked BBQ, and was always happy to prepare large catering trays full of good eating for family and friends. Mark also enjoyed fishing throughout his life and in his last years spent hours with a line in the water at the family lake house, always ready to strike up a conversation with folks passing by.

He loved Texas and dogs and old westerns and Disney World trips with his grandkids.

His life was not easy, but he never complained. He always got up, strapped on his boots and did what needed to be done for his family. Mark was truly the last of his kind—a devoted family man whose legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
