Martha Junta Obituary

Martha Therese Junta, age 92, a lifelong resident of Wyckoff, NJ went home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 9, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Martha was born in Paterson, NJ, to German immigrants.  Martha was a graduate of Ramsey High School and a graduate of Hackensack Hospital School of Nursing with an RN Degree.  Martha furthered her studies and graduated from Jersey City State College with a BA degree in Nursing.  Martha began her career in the Nursery at Hackensack Hospital and later transferred to Valley Hospital as Nursery Charge Nurse.  She then worked for several local Pediatricians and ended her career as the Student Health Nurse at William Paterson University.

Martha met the love of her life, Albert, in 1953.  He fell in love with her sunny disposition and beautiful smile.  They settled in Wyckoff, NJ and had three daughters.  Martha is survived by Therese (Frank) of Marietta, GA, Elizabeth (Jeff) of Riverview, FL, Alyson of Wyckoff, and dear family friend Theresa of Wyckoff; cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. Martha was a grandmother to seven grandchildren, Matthew (Brianna), Kelsey (Chris), Francis, Bradley, Ryan, Candace (Jake), and Evan; and four great-grandchildren, Landrea, Landon, Liam and Charleigh.

Martha was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 65 years and her brother.

Martha’s greatest joy in life was Jesus and her family.  She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Martha was an accomplished pianist and outstanding cook frequently using crops from Albert’s expansive garden and making home-made jams from grapes and strawberries Albert had picked.  Sunday’s were always special beginning with Church and Martha making delicious dinners for her family.  Martha loved ice-cream and never said no to a ride to DQ in Montvale or Curly’s in Riverdale.  Martha enjoyed family vacations to Cape Cod, Myrtle Beach, Hersey Park and the Amish Country.  Martha loved to go on cruises and took several European and American Cross Country tours.  Martha loved day trips to the Jersey shore where she would ride the waves with her family.  Martha loved visiting her daughters and grandchildren as often as she could.

Martha loved everything God, faith and family.  Martha was always joyful, smiling, full of love and care for others, humble, content, self-sacrificing and devoted to her husband and daughters.  She was a peacemaker and rarely raised her voice.  Martha loved the Lord her God with all her heart.  She was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park, NJ and frequently attended Hawthorne Gospel Church in Hawthorne, NJ.

Martha is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior in her eternal home in Heaven where she has received the commendation, “Well done, my good and faithful servant”.
