Mary Conway

Mary Conway née O’Brien, 63, of Wyckoff, NJ, was peacefully called home by the Lord on August 26th, 2023.  She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Washburn Conway, and is survived by her two loving daughters, Colleen and Kathleen Conway of Franklin Lakes.  She is also survived by her dearest sister Winnie O’Brien and brothers Terence O’Brien and John O’Brien and predeceased by her brothers Michael and Jimmy O’Brien. 

Raised in Teaneck, NJ, she was the daughter of Elizabeth and John O’Brien.  She worked for 40 years at DialAmerica Marketing in Mahwah, NJ, during which time she earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers. An active community member, she was a 20+ year parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church Franklin Lakes, NJ and a long-time board member of Oasis, a nonprofit in Paterson, NJ.  

Mary was very passionate about golf; playing with her twin daughters at Ridgewood Country Club was one of her most treasured pastimes. Her favorite place to visit was Martha’s Vineyard, where she shared many happy memories with friends and family. She will be remembered as a strong woman and loving mother whose deep faith and generosity of time and spirit will sorely be missed. 

The Conway family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at St. Elizabeth’s RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.  Interment of Ashes to follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5028, http://mskcc.org/donate, where she was treated for Angiosarcoma for seven years.
