Michael Vargas, 69, of Allendale, NJ and formerly of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on September 23, 2025.
Michael was born in Newark, NJ on September 15, 1956.
He grew up in Irvington, NJ where he had a happy childhood playing sports with his brothers and friends. He graduated from Irvington High School in 1974. He went on to earn his degree in Computer Engineering from The New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1982. Michael had a successful 41 year career in Information Technology, the last 17 of which he spent with pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk in Princeton, NJ where he was Director of Applications. He retired in 2021 to spend time with his family.
Michael devoted his life to his family. He traveled the world with his wife of 44 years, Patti. He attended many concerts and sporting events with his two sons Michael and Matthew and his two daughters-in-law Mary and Paige. Upon retirement, he became a full-time grandfather to his two grandsons Carter and Kendall. He was a beloved member of the Bloomfield and Allendale communities.
He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Helen Vargas.
The family will receive friends on Sunday September 28 from 1pm to 4pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday September 29 at 10am at St. Luke’s Church, 340 Franklin Turnpike Ho-Ho-Kus NJ 07423.
