With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michele Kenney on February 10, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Kevin Kenney. Adoring sister to Francine (Edward) Guy. Predeceased by her younger brother Christopher (Julie) Saner. Loving mother to Erin (Troy) Seifert, Meghan (Daniel) Maloney, and John (Claire) Kenney. Devoted grandmother of Emma, Maggie, Katie, Kevin, Michael, Quinn, Sean, Nora and Luke.
Michele was born in Brooklyn on October 1, 1952 to Margaret & Christopher Saner. The family moved to Waldwick, NJ in 1960, and Michele remained a lifelong resident until her death. She went to St. Luke’s High School, and graduated from Waldwick High School in 1970 after St. Luke’s closed its doors. She attended Bergen Community College where she attained her Associates Degree while working as a research librarian at the school.
She married the love of her life, Kevin, in 1978 and together they raised their 3 children in Waldwick. Michele poured everything she had into her family and friends. She was happiest when listening to the Beatles or being crafty. Michele loved to create hand-sewn costumes for her kids for Halloween, create costumes for school plays, and she loved to stencil and paint just about anything. She also loved to cheer her children, and then grandchildren, on from the sidelines at all their sporting events. She was generous and kind and always went out of her way to take care of others. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home (257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ). Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church (340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ). Private interment at a later date.
