Muriel R. Prins

Muriel Ruth Prins (nee Van Lenten), 96, of Hawthorne, NJ went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 8, 2025, just five days shy of her 97th birthday. She was brought up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was 19. She continually served her Savior as a diligent prayer warrior for her family and all the people she knew.

She was born in Passaic, NJ to Richard and Freda Van Lenten. She was a graduate of Eastern Christian School. She worked at US Rubber Company in New Jersey, Valley National Bank in Arizona, and Digital Equipment in Massachusetts. Her main job was working at the Christian Health Care Center as a unit clerk for 14 years, and after retirement she volunteered there for 25 years.

She was a member of Hawthorne Gospel Church and previously a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Paterson. She worked as a Sunday School teacher, Pioneer Girl leader, Vacation Bible School teacher, and in the Seniors group.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph, and her daughter Cynthia. She is survived by Cynthia’s husband Mark, and two sons Richard and his wife Lois, and Dr. Edward and his wife Beth, and her daughter Lauren and her husband Daniel. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by all her family and those who knew her.
