Nadine Lisecki Obituary

Nadine Lisecki - loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and a dear friend - passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 92.

Nadine was born to Aram and Nevarte Boghossian and raised in Queens, New York where she developed an appreciation for the arts and finance, graduating from Julia Richmond High School, a premier all-girls public school, and then Baruch College with a degree in Accounting. Nadine married the love of her life, Richard in 1959. They met briefly as children through mutual friends, having lived in the same Queens neighborhood for a time, before reuniting as adults in their mid-20’s. Following the wedding they honeymooned in Bermuda, returning several times through the
years on their own and with their children and grandchildren. They were happily married for 63 years. Richard predeceased her in 2022.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents Aram and Nevarte, as well as her sister-in-law, Cheselyn Hanofee. Nadine’s parents were both Armenian and each were born and raised in Turkey, separately residing for a time in Constantinople, Turkey, and living through the Armenian Christian Genocide of 1915-1916. They taught her to speak Armenian, which she spoke with enthusiasm when given the opportunity to converse with relatives and friends.

Following college graduation Nadine employed her accounting degree and love for the arts as a financial controller for Art in America, a NYC-based contemporary art magazine. While working she also pursued a masters in education degree but left the workplace to raise her children, later returning as manager of financial accounts for an accounting firm (Weidenbaum Ryder) when her children were teenagers. Nadine was active in the school and PTO for her children in Wyckoff (class mom, Economy Shop, The Depot), the Ridgewood Choral singing group, and was an active
member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgewood, serving in various roles, including as a choir member, deacon, and counter. Nadine was a child of God who maintained a strong ancestral faith in God’s grace, love, and plans for her life, which sustained her. Nadine was generous with her gifts and in her later years generated an impressive volume of correspondence from charitable organizations that she supported. She showed her most generous instincts with her grandchildren, whom she supported unconditionally with great amounts of love and attention, faithfully watching and cheering them on from the sidelines and in the audience.

Nadine will be dearly missed by her children Courtney and Cleve, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Shannon, and all her grandchildren: Alexandra Galgano, Nicolas Galgano, Sophia Galgano, Augustus Lisecki, and Quentin Lisecki.

The Lisecki family will receive family and friends on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ.
