Nancy Ann La Cava, 80, of Saddle Brook, passed away on August 10th, 2025. Nancy was born in the Bronx, New York. Nancy and her family moved to Fair Lawn, New Jersey when she was 13 where she lived until she married Edward La Cava and moved to Hawthorne until moving to Saddle Brook 23 years ago.
Nancy graduated from Fair Lawn High School and was a medical secretary for years before becoming a stay-at-home Mom to her only daughter, Lisa.
Nancy loved attending church, cooking, gardening, reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family every Summer in Lavallette, NJ. Nancy had many fond memories of weekly Sunday dinners with her family.
Most of all Nancy adored and cherished all of her time with Michael and Christopher. She loved helping to care for them all their lives.
Nancy is survived by her only daughter, Lisa Van Der Wall, son-in-law, Timothy, her most cherished grandsons, Michael and Christopher. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward La Cava, parents, Pasquale and Anna Addessi, sisters, Patricia Ambrosio, Irene Mullins, Madeline Flynn, and brother, Pasquale (Freddy) Addessi as well as her niece Loreen Flynn Amos and nephew Lawrence Ambrosio. She was also predeceased by her in-laws, Joseph and Florence La Cava, and brother-in-law, Gregory La Cava.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at St. Philip the Apostle Church 488 Saddle River Rd. Saddle Brook, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14th at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Autism Speaks Foundation www.autismspeaks.org An organization very near and dear to Nancy’s heart.
