Nancy Mooney

Nancy (Ciser) Mooney, 55, of Waldwick, NJ passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Born in Ridgewood, NJ and raised in Emerson, she settled in Waldwick many years ago, building a life filled with laughter, friendship and family. She devoted herself to her work at Inserra Supermarkets, where her dedication was clear to all who knew her. Nancy worked in various locations over the years but was most recently part of the Wyckoff team, remaining a valued employee at the time of her passing.

Nancy lived life to the fullest, cherishing every moment. Her love for New Jersey was apparent in everything she did, from passionately cheering for the New York Yankees and listening to Bon Jovi, to her summer trips to Wildwood Crest, where she eagerly rose early to ride her bike along the boardwalk, listening to the waves and soaking in the morning sun.

Nancy delighted in baking her famous Christmas cookies, a tradition her friends and family looked forward to every year. A collector at heart, she had a special fondness for Ernie from Sesame Street. She also loved her trips to the casinos, often enjoying video poker games for a bit of adventure and fun.

With a gift for gathering people together Nancy was everyone’s social coordinator, always arranging get togethers and keeping connections strong among family and friends. Her passion for photography preserved countless cherished memories. If not for her, there might not be any photos at all from special times spent together.

Nancy touched the lives of many with her generous heart, sense of humor, and vibrant spirit. She will be missed dearly by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Beloved wife of Jim Mooney. Loving mother of James Mooney. Cherished daughter of Ruth (Sironen) Ciser and the late Donald Ciser. Dear sister of Alan Ciser and his wife Debbie and Gary Ciser and his wife Diane. Aunt to Kenny and Patrick Comer, and Amanda and Daniel Ciser. Nancy is also survived by her in-laws Deb Reid and her husband John, and Jay Mooney, and their children Travis Reid and Zachary Mooney. Daughter-in-law of Elaine Seligson.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, December 27, 2025, 2:30 - 6:30, at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481.  A Funeral Mass is planned for Monday, December 29, 2025, 10:30am, at St. Luke’s R.C.Church, 340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho Ho Kus, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ
