Noreen Theresa (Mooney) Dominguez, 62, passed away on September 5th 2021 at her home in Frisco, Colorado. She was born on February 27th, 1959 in Patterson, NJ, to Claire and John J. Mooney, their third child and second daughter. She will be dearly missed.
Noreen attended Paramus Catholic Regional High School and was a graduate of Ramapo High School. She then graduated from New England College, and studied geochemistry at the University of New Hampshire, where she met her first husband, Chris Jahrling. Noreen then dedicated herself to raising a family. Noreen shared a love of the outdoors and recreation with her family.
Noreen was a life-long skier. She was a member of the North Jersey Whiz Skiers, of which her father was a founding member. With her second husband, Richard Anthony Dominguez, she learned to scuba dive and shared her love of skiing. After Richard's passing, Noreen earned a degree in sonography at Bergen Community College and worked as a sonographer before moving to Frisco Colorado. Noreen pursued many passions through her love of the great outdoors: cycling, skiing, hiking, traveling, and painting. She was active in the Summit County Social and Adventure Club through Meetup, and was also involved in other cycling groups.
She will be remembered fondly for her biscotti, her effervescence, her shopping habits, and her determination.
Noreen was preceded in death by her husband Richard Anthony Dominguez, father John J. Mooney, and sister Baby Susan.
Noreen is survived by her mother Claire Mooney, as well as her siblings: brother John D. Mooney, sister Marybeth (Tomasz) Stachowiak, sister Kathleen (Michael Goldberg) Mooney, and sister Elizabeth (Brian) Convery; her ex-husband Christian Jahrling and their four children: daughter Kaitlyn (Daniel) Long, son Joseph Jahrling, daughter Brianne (Thomas) Cohen, and son Eric Jahrling, her four step-children: step-son Richard Dominguez, step-son Ryan Dominguez, step-son Benjamin Dominguez, and step-son Alex Dominguez; and her beloved grandchildren: Jacob Long, Max Long and Benjamin Cohen.
Visiting hours for the family are 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A funeral mass for Noreen will be held 10:00am on Wednesday at the Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect St., Midland Park, NJ 07432. Burial will follow at the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
