It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Angela Patricia Nassar, aka “Pat” age 89, who departed this world peacefully surrounded by her family on September 6, 2023. She was a woman of extraordinary grace, kindness, and love, leaving an incredible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. She had a remarkable talent for making everyone feel special.
Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY. She started her career as a hair dresser working at a salon in Brooklyn, NY and for a short time in Miami, FL. She had a great love for animals and always had a house filled with dogs and cats.
Pat met Odell, the love of her life, at a graduation party in Kingston NY, and the rest was history. They moved to Odell’s home state of North Carolina for several years, Pat immediately adapted to the southern lifestyle and truly loved it. Years later they relocated to New Jersey and settled in Wyckoff, NJ to raise a family. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting their needs above her own.
Pat was a devoted parishioner of St. Elizabeth RC Church where she was a Pre-Cana program husband-wife coordinator, 1st Eucharistic minister group in 1997, co-president rosary society, chairman liturgy committee, chairman hospitality committee. Pat also served as a home economics teacher at St. Elizabeth school, assistant at Darlington Seminary, teacher’s aide at Blessed Sacrament school in Franklin Lakes in addition to assisting at St. Martins soup kitchen in Jersey City every Saturday. Pat was originally a Brooklyn Dodger fan and ultimately became a loyal NY Yankees fan and would never miss a game. When she wasn’t watching the game, Pat would be reading, solving jigsaw puzzles, exercising, bird watching, saying her daily rosary, and watching Mass online. She was an extremely talented cook and baker, no one ever left her home hungry, her Christmas cookies were legendary and sought after by many.
Known for her deep love of God and Christian faith, our mom will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Pat was the epitome of selflessness, always offering unwavering love and support to her family. Her nurturing spirit created a warm and welcoming home where countless cherished memories were made. Pat’s family asks that she be remembered for the love, joy and kindness she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.
Pat is survived by her three children Tom, Mary, and Michael, daughter in-law Anne, and her two granddaughters Georgia and Catherine whom she absolutely adored and loved very much, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience.
As we say our “until we meet again”, we take comfort knowing that Pat had found eternal peace with Odell and is watching over us with the same love that she showered us throughout her life. A truly special Mom who enriched the lives of everyone she touched. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts.
