Patricia R. Adams

Patricia R. (Cella) Adams, 87 of Saddle River, NJ, formerly of Waldwick, passed away on Wednesday April 8, 2026. Born in Englewood, NJ and raised in Tenafly, she eventually settled in Waldwick to raise her family.

Loving mother of Jeffery W., Douglas C., and Bradford D. Adams and his wife Kara. Beloved grandmother of Douglas C. and his wife Caroline, Zoey M., Bradford J., and Karoline M. Adams. Former spouse and companion of the late Jeffery Adams. Sister of the late Charles Cella.

Patricia began her career as a secretary for Gray advertising in New York City, where she worked for 5 years, before starting her family. She later worked Mercedes-Benz in Montvale, NJ before retiring . Her strong work ethic and independence played an important role throughout her life.

Of all the things Patricia enjoyed in life, there was nothing more important to her than her family.  Her three sons meant the world to her, and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye.

Patricia’s love for the beach started at a young age and continued throughout her life.  She loved nothing more than looking for shells and sitting on the beach all day until it turned dark.  If you didn’t find her on the beach, you would find her glued to the tv as she was a passionate New York Yankees fan, who never missed a game. Patricia enjoyed shopping, reading a good book and staying up late. Something she enjoyed for years was calling into WHN 1050 radio where she won contests so frequently, they knew her by name. “Never you mind!” was a phrase Patricia said often, which perfectly captured her independent spirit, spicy personality and her wonderful sense of humor. She leaves behind a loving family and a legacy of laughter and love. 

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday April 19, 2026 from 10am-1pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A funeral service is planned for 1pm at the Funeral home. Cremation will be private.
