Patricia Eitner Obituary

Patricia Eitner – February 4, 2025

Patricia Eitner, (nee Guidera), 79, of Waldwick, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her
family on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years,
Joseph Francis Eitner, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories. She was a
devoted and loving mother to her sons, Joseph Francis Jr., Michael Anthony, Matthew David,
and John-Paul, and mother-in-law to Valerie (nee Wonsowicz), Shannon (nee Gallo), Katie (nee
Konde), and Kimberly (nee Stanton). She was the proud grandmother of thirteen, a title she
deeply cherished. Her grandchildren-Jack, Isabella, Ryan, Joseph, Daniel, Ella, Matthew, Luke,
Brynn, Jane, Russell, Blake, and Benjamin were her greatest blessings. Patricia was pre-
deceased by her sister Rosemary, and survived by her sister Barbara, and brother Peter. She
was a caring and giving aunt to many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and
great grand nieces and nephews.
Patricia was born in The Bronx, NY in 1945, and moved to Edgewater, NJ in 1953. She attended
public schools there and graduated from Leonia High School in 1963. Patricia settled in
Waldwick, NJ with her family in 1969. She remained a fixture at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic
Parish, assorted ball fields, gymnasiums, diners and restaurants for the next four plus decades.
Patricia was extremely involved with many Catholic ministries. She served as Marriage
Encounter Coordinator and Natural Family Planning Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Newark,
a Trustee at St. Luke’s Parish, Member of the Lay Salesian Board of Trustees, and President of
the Mother’s Guild at Don Bosco Prep High School. Patricia later founded and managed two
small businesses with her husband and son.
Patricia’s stately grace and positive energy were hallmarks that she took into every corner of
her life. She loved personal interactions with everyone she encountered, was an amazing cook
and incredibly talented sunbather. Through everything, her faith came first. Patricia was an
advocate of the unborn and defender of the Church.
