Patricia Graf Obituary

Patricia Rose “Patti” Graf, age 73, unexpectedly but peacefully, went home to the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2024, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Patti, as she was affectionately known to many, was born in Jersey City, NJ and grew up in Greenwood Lake, NY.

Following her graduation from Monroe Woodbury High School in 1968, Patti began her employment career and retired as a Secretary from Becton Dickinson in Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Patti met the love of her life, Alan R. Graf, during her days living in Greenwood Lake, NY.  They married in 1970 and settled in Bergen County where they raised their son, Alan, Jr.

When not busy at work, or in her most important role as a mother, she could be found boating on Greenwood Lake or creating lasting memories spending time with family and friends at the shore, one of her favorite places to be!  If she was at any event with a dance floor, watch out for she would be the first one up dancing and the last one to sit down. Dancing was one of her favorite things to do.

As so many families loved ones, just like Patti’s life was impaired with the affect of such a debilitating disease, so to, were the lives of those who survived her, Alan R. Graf, Sr., her husband of 54 years, of Allendale, a son, Alan R. Graf and his wife, Monique of Ramsey and her sister, Bernice Malvik and her husband, Kenneth of Warwick, NY.  Also left to carry on their grandmother’s legacy are her three grandchildren, Evan, Julia, Alec and his fiancee', April, and her great grandson, Carson. Patti enjoyed spending every opportunity she could with her family and grandchildren.

Patti is now reunited with her family members who were called home before her, her mother, Bernice Killeen, her father, James Killeen, her stepfather, Walter Hestermann, her sister, Anna May Dembia, and her brother, John Keltos.

Time can pass so quickly, never pass on the chance or occasion to create a lasting memory with family and friends. Patti never passed on the adventure to go out for dinner.  Great things happen when gathered around the table for a meal.  As a blessing to have known, Patti, in her memory, gather your own family and friends for a meal and see what lasting memories are created! Yes, Patti preferred going out for dinner, but when she put her cooking skills to work in the kitchen, oh, what a meal and memories too!

The family will receive friends on Wednesday. March 20, 2024, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home,  www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.  A private cremation will be held.
