Patricia A. (Colacurcio) Scura

Patricia Scura, Age 76, was called home to the Lord on June 22, 2022.  She was born in Jersey City, NJ to Carmine and Helen and graduated from Snyder High School.  She raised her loving family in Bloomfield for 28 years before moving to Mahwah in 2001, where she happily spent the rest of her life.  She was a long-time parishioner and an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Mahwah, where she especially loved singing in the choir.

Patricia was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  Her life was devoted to raising her 4 children, where she treasured every minute with them.  She particularly enjoyed time at her summer home at the Jersey shore in Mantoloking, and her annual road trips to Hilton Head, South Carolina with her loving family, which expanded to 16, and was affectionately called the HHI 16.  She especially loved her role as “Nonna” to her 7 grandchildren, who ran to her with immense love immediately upon seeing her.  Her arms were always open to give a hug.  She made friends with everyone she met, and always made people smile.  The most common thing everyone said about her was that she was a wonderful, selfless woman who always welcomed you into her home and treated you like family.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Patrick, and her 4 children; Deana Scura, Jeffrey Scura and his wife Karina, Danielle McCarthy and her husband Thomas, Patrick Scura and his wife Billie Lynne, plus her 7 loving grandchildren who she adored immensely; grandsons Nicholas, T.J., Matthew, Gabriel, J.P., Luke, and her only granddaughter Elena.  She will be missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 4 – 8pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.  A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, 900 Darlington Avenue Mahwah, NJ 07430.  The interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery and Mausoleum, 770 Darlington Avenue Mahwah, NJ 07430.
