Paul Fulford, Sr.

Dr. Paul Francis Fulford Sr., age seventy-eight, of Midland Park, NJ and formerly of Ridgewood, NJ, passed away on February 17th, 2025. He was born in Washington Heights, NY and grew up on Long Island before moving to Ridgewood, NJ thirty-three years ago.

Paul received his Bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and his PhD in Psychology from St. John’s University. He was a licensed psychologist and head of Psychometric Services, a private practice based in Paterson, NJ. He treated employees and clients alike with kindness, dignity, and respect. 

He was a loving father and devoted husband who worked tirelessly to support his family. Despite a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes at the age of twelve and its lifelong impact on his health, Paul did not hesitate to reach out and give his time, energy, and knowledge to others. For this, his family will remember him as a man of uncommon goodness and bravery. 

He is survived by his wife, Marylou Koontz Fulford, and two children, Caroline Keough Fulford and Paul Francis Fulford, Jr., as well as many siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Earl Vanhoesen Fulford and Elizabeth Keough Fulford. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 28th, 9:30 AM at St Anthony’s Church in Hawthorne, NJ.
