Peter M. Collins

Peter Michael Collins (age 52) passed away on 4/30/22. Peter grew up in Franklin Lakes, NJ and lived for many years in Waldwick, NJ with his beloved partner, June Solari of Waldwick.  He is survived by his mother, Barbara Duffy (husband Bill Duffy) and his father, William Collins, Sr. (partner Jean Irvine) along with his siblings, Christine Burke Barbiere (partner Robert Livingston), Cathy Stout (husband Art Stout), William Collins Jr. (wife Barbara Collins) and Jennifer Boland (husband Dave Boland). His many nieces and nephews, Tabitha, Megan, Brittany, Jack, Sean, Ryan, Matthew, William, Brooke, Shelby, and Gwen will miss him terribly.  Peter was also a beloved great uncle to Tommy, Connor and Eloise.

He was an expert HVAC Contractor known for going above and beyond for his clients. Peter loved taking long walks through the McFaul Environmental Center with June and could always be counted on to correctly identify any bird by its call. A cat lover his whole life, he doted on his beloved cat, Nikki, who will miss him terribly. He was a consummate fisherman, happily spending hours on the water, and always had unlimited patience and enthusiasm when fishing with his nieces or nephews. An avid fan of offshore powerboat racing, he relished every detail of the boats and races as a spectator. Most of all, Peter just genuinely loved People and was the most loyal and generous of friends to so many. To know him was to love him, and we were so lucky to know him.

 The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, May 4,2022 from 5:00 to 9:00pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 5,2022 10:30am at the Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect St., Midland Park, NJ. Cremation Private. Donations in Peter’s name would be appreciated to The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge (RBARI).
