Peter Franco

Peter Franco, 87 of Franklin Lakes, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Born in Manhattan, he lived in Queens and North Haledon before moving to Franklin Lakes 34 years ago.

Peter served overseas in the US Army in Aschaffenburg, Germany from 1961 to 1963 and was an expert sharpshooter on the USAR pistol team. 

He was a huge philanthropist and an involved member in his church communities.  He was a member of the Touch the World ministries board for many years.  Peter a man of many talents was also a pilot, poet, songwriter and self-made business man.   He was a man of remarkable values-a big heart that radiated kindness, a soul rooted in honesty and a spirit full of compassion for others

Peter is survived by his son, Daniel (Sandra) Franco and their children Eva and Rose; daughter, Lisa (Frank) Meli and their children Francesco (Ashley), Nicholas and Marco, daughter, Deborah Franco and her children Jonah, Sebastiana Rose, Isabella, Isaiah and Hani; son, David (Stacie) Franco and their children Christina, Joseph and Angelina; and son Andrew Franco and his children Amelia and Arcangelo.

Peter was also survived by his siblings: Daniel (Mary) Franco, John (Elaine) Franco and Lydia (Elisio) Pagano; and his sisters-in-law Bessie Grieco and Maryjane Mezzapelli and brother-in-law Paul Raucci along with his companion Janet Braen.

Peter was predeceased by his beloved wife Rose in 1998.

Visiting hours are from 5:00 to 9:00pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home,  www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. 

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home

Interment will follow at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
