Peter A Frank, Jr

Dr. Peter A. Frank, Jr of Glen Rock passed away on February 6, 2021. He was born on March 28, 1924 in Paterson, NJ to Dr. Peter A. Frank, Sr and Adele Amabile Frank. He graduated from St. John’s Cathedral High School and studied at St. Peter’s College and the University of Pennsylvania. After receiving a degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry, he did an Internship at Jersey City Medical Center and served as a Captain in the US Army Dental Corps attached to the Air Force during World War II. He started private practice in his deceased father’s Paterson office and after fourteen years moved the practice to Glen Rock.

During  a career which spanned almost seventy years he served on the staff of Paterson General Hospital, Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ and as a Clinical Instructor and guest lecturer at the Fairleigh Dickinson School of Dentistry. He was a life member of the American, Bergen County and New Jersey Dental Associations, the Bergen County Dental Society, the American College of Dentists and was a Grand Master of the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity, Zeta Chapter. He was a past member of the Bergen County Peer Review Committee, the American Society for Preventative Dentistry, the American Society of Dental Esthetics and the American Prostheodontic Society. He was a member of the Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Dental Electrosurgery and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He was an alumnus of the L.D. Pankey Institute of Advanced Education and was elected to the American College of Dentists and the Academy of General Dentistry.

An avid and accomplished golfer he was a former member of Hackensack Golf Club, Spring Lake Golf Club and The Country Club of North Carolina, Pinehurst.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ruth Roughgarden Frank and is survived by children Ruth Morine and husband David of Great Falls, VA, Drew and wife Sophie Sisler of Manasquan, NJ and Helen Szymanski and husband John of Glen Rock. He was devoted to grandchildren John, Helen and William Szymanski and Deven Sisler, Cameron Sisler and Kathryn Sisler Waple as well as three great grandchildren.

He was a loving and loyal brother to Joseph Frank (deceased), William Frank and wife Carole of Glen Rock and sister Dolores Lillo of Barnegat, NJ. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ridgewood. Interment to follow at the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
