Pierre Everaert passed away on April 4th at his home, surrounded by his wife and four children.
Pierre was born at the dawn of WW2 in Aalst, Belgium. Following Jesuit high school he attended the University of Leuven, whilst also working in his father’s tire company. There, he developed skills that laid the foundation for what would become an extraordinary lifelong business success story.
Following graduation, Pierre emigrated to America in November of 1963 and joined Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Akron, Ohio. That was the start of Pierre’s 45-year career that ended up spanning the globe and many industries, including manufacturing, consumer products, retailing, electronics and the food and beverages.
Pierre shared his love for travel and exploring other cultures with his family. Despite a busy life, he always found time to educate and inspire his family and enrich their lives with photography, music, culture, travel, never shying away from discussing any topic.
Pierre transitioned from his corporate life twenty years ago. He focused on continuing his travels to visit with family and friends, but also worked to develop young, entrepreneurial managers by sharing his vast experience in business and life.
When his age advanced, Pierre’s discipline of mind, convictions and persistence allowed him to participate in family events, including a final Christmas of 2024, giving his whole family the opportunity to celebrate life and a plethora of experiences and memories. This was his one, last gift to his family, instilling in them the values he held so dear.
Pierre is survived by his wife, brother, his four children, eight grandchildren. Mourning with us are his extended family members in Belgium, Ohio, and across the globe.
A funeral Mass for Pierre Everaert will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, April 7,2025 at St. Joseph's RC Church, 573 Piermont Road, Demarest, NJ
