Ramzieh Basna

Ramzieh Basna, 75, of Waldwick, NJ sadly passed away on May 6, 2023.  She will be remembered as a loving and faithful mother, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend to everyone who was blessed to be around her.  She was a devout woman of faith and her last words were of seeing bright blue and white skies and Jesus coming down to take her to heaven.  

Ramzieh was born on June 28, 1947 in Al-Malikiyah, Syria to Suleiman and Amina Eliya. She married her husband Mufid in 1975 who preceded her in death in 2020. She leaves behind her 3 children Rolin (Jason), Diana, and Ruth (Michael); as a loving Teta, her 5 grandchildren Sydney, Charlotte, Avery, Theodore, and Myles; and her 6 siblings Ramsey, John, Saide, Victoria, Emmy, and Hanan.

Ramzieh moved to the United States in 1981 and built her family and home in New Jersey.  She was passionate about sharing the gospel and spending time in fellowship with others. Ramzieh was an active and devout member of Bethany Church in Wyckoff, NJ, and was a founding member of Living Water Arabic Church in Ridgewood, NJ.

Ramzieh was a caring soul who opened her home and loved to feed everyone.  She made countless meals, from full Arabic breakfasts with her famous pancakes, to dinners where every inch of the dining table was covered in dishes to her infamous baklava. Everyone always knew they would never go without if she was around. Her ministry was her outpouring of love to others.  

We are all saddened by her departure but can rejoice in knowing that she is no longer in pain and is reunited in heaven with her husband Mufid, mother Amina, father Suleiman, and brother Habib.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday May 11 from 6-9pm for her viewing at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ, and Friday morning, May 12 at 10 AM for service at Bethany Church, 568 Wellington Drive, Wyckoff, NJ.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Living Water Arabic Church.
