Obituary: Richard Clark - A Life of Service, Courage, and Achievement

**Richard Clark**, a distinguished veteran who served with valor in the United States Marine Corps, passed away at the age of 99, leaving behind a legacy of profound courage and national service. As a **Buck Sergeant** from 1941 to 1953, Mr. Clark demonstrated remarkable resilience during both World War II and the Korean War. His military career was defined by extraordinary courage, particularly in his roles of Reconnaissance and Assault.

Mr. Clark's military service included pivotal battles that tested human endurance in battles that shaped 20th-century history including Iwo Jima, Heartbreak Ridge, Chosin Reservoir and  Bloody George.  Mr. Clark demonstrated  leadership under extreme combat conditions and earned a  reputation for strategic thinking and calm under pressure

After his military service, Mr. Clark pursued higher education with the same determination that characterized his military service.  Mr. Clark studied Forestry at Iowa State University and obtained a Business degree from New York University.

Mr. Clark's post-military career demonstrated a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit during which time he founded a pioneering automobile finance business in the mid-1950s and became a successful broker-dealer on Wall Street

Mr. Clark was a long-standing member of the Boy Scouts of America, serving as mentor and was a former member of the National Ski Patrol.

Mr. Clark is survived by his three children, and his companion of 25 years, Mary Sue Coscia.

Richard Clark embodied the quintessential American journey: a warrior, scholar, and entrepreneur, who transformed challenges into opportunities.
