Richard (Skip) M. Mascuch, Jr., 77 of Fair Lawn, NJ, passed away with his sister, Rory by his side, on December 7, 2024, after suffering a long illness.
Born and raised in Passaic, New Jersey on July 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Richard and Teresa (Lombardo) Mascuch. Skip, as he was known to all, was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He graduated from Passaic High School in 1964.
Skip was a proud American and serviced his country. He was deployed to Vietnam where he was severely wounded during active combat. He was awarded the Purple Heart and deemed 100% disabled by the U.S. Army due to wounds suffered. Nevertheless, Skip worked for the U.S. Post Office for many years.
He is survived by his sisters, Rory Schimpf, Judy (husband Jan) Seigel and brother Jason Mascuch (partner Julie), as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Skip was a devoted, lifelong N.Y. Giants fan and loved all sports. He was a real character, one of a kind, and will be sorely missed.
The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 9 – 11am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, N.J. Services, and internment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ
