Robert H. Skudera

Robert “Bob” Skudera, 85, formerly of Midland Park, N.J., entered eternal life on July 25 at Christian Healthcare in Wyckoff, N.J., while lovingly surrounded by his family. Bob was the beloved husband of Edith (Housley) with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage before her passing in 2025. Bob was born to Ellen (Jacovetto) and William Skudera in Union City, N.J.

Bob was a car enthusiast and had a passion for restoring antique cars, especially those from the 1950’s. As a younger man, he was a member of the Road Dusters car group, and later in life, he and his wife, Edie, were members of the Rusty Relics and Happy Motoring Club where they travelled throughout the country sharing many adventures and showing his old cars. He was a long time member of Midland Park United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee, a member of the Property Team and participated in the annual Christmas Tree sale for many years. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and could repair almost anything. He collected antique flashlights as a hobby. Bob had many long time friends and deeply cherished each of those friendships.

Bob is survived by his children, Janet,  Matthew and his wife Joan, Karen and her husband Chant. He was the proud grandfather of Allyssa, Sean, Robert, Carleton, Anne, John and Grayson; and great-grandfather of Weston, Calla, Archer, Charlotte and Walker.

In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother, Bill, and grandson, Brennan.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until noon on Friday, July 31 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com) at 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, N.J.A funeral service is planned for noon at the funeral home. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, N.J.
