I never thought I would have to look up "how to write an obituary". What I found didn't feel fitting for how I wanted us to remember Robbie. This obituary, acts as a love letter to Rob.
I will always remember Rob as the strongest, kindest, genuine and most vibrant person I've ever met. With an infectious and sparkling smile, it was always clear how deeply Robbie cared for those around him.
Robert Scott Small was born in New York City to Robert and Carolyn Small. He grew up with me, his younger sister Suzanne, in Wyckoff, NJ, a beautiful community that the Smalls will always be grateful for. An avid athlete, Rob attended Villanova University, where he played Division 1 hockey. He went on to further education and graduated from Life University as a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine and opened a thriving chiropractic practice in Colorado. Throughout his life, Robbie was always active, and loved skiing, working out, gardening (inspired by his mother) and cooking what he grew.
Robbie lived an incredible life, surrounded by magnificent and loving friends and family. He had so much to share with the world, and those of us who knew him were blessed. Robbie leaves behind his father and me, his sister. The pain that we feel at his passing is greater than we could have ever imagined, but we are comforted by the presence and memories of those he touched and inspired. We take some solace knowing my mother has her arms wrapped lovingly around him.
We love you and will always miss you, Robbie.
