Robert Alfred (Bob) Whiteley, 89 and formerly of Wyckoff, NJ, passed away on Monday, 07/28/2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Wyckoff, NJ in 1964 until relocating to the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home in 2018.
Bob was a Graduate of Fairleigh Dickenson University and an Army Veteran. He was active in the Wyckoff and Midland Park communities and a member of the Church of the Nativity, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. Bob also volunteered at the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home for many years, and cared for his stepfather, Herbert Schiermeister, there until his passing in 2014. Bob was a true giver and supporter of many in his family and community and will be missed by his Family members, friends and those who cared for him at the Veterans Memorial Home.
He is survived by many cousins and Godchildren, Roger J. Scheuing (Cheryl), Kyle J. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Margret and Herbert Schiermeister, his first cousins, Richard (Frank) Hogan, Joan B. Scheuing (Kenneth), Thomas R. McGoldrick Sr., Edward Weinberg, Donald (Donnie) Randall (Penny), Suzanne McGoldrick (God-Daughter), Siobhan Scheuing, Yvonne Scheuing, Donna Scheuing, Loving Aunts, Theresa (Tessie) Weinberg (Morris), Mary McGoldrick (Thomas), Frances Randall, Terry Thompson (George), George (Georgie) Flynn, Roger Flynn Jr. Grandfather Roger Flynn Sr. (Mary)
The family will receive family and friends on Friday 08/01/25 from 2pm to 6pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday,08/02/24 at 09:00am at the Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Avenue, Midland Park, NJ.
Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ.
