Obituary
Rodger W. Stopford age 82 of Oakland went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday January 19, 2023. Rodger was born in Paterson and lived in Hawthorne before moving to Oakland. He worked for Grand Union for over 45 years then for Valley National Bank. Rodger was a member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church and a former member of the church choir. Survived by his daughter Bonnie Chepurko and her husband Thomas Chepurko, daughter Robin Hegarty and her husband Robert Hegarty, and daughter Cherie Stopford. He was a loving grandpa to Kristina Nunes, Tommy Chepurko, Emily Hegarty, Erica Hegarty, Sean Hegarty and 2 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rodgers name can be made to Hawthorne Christian Academy, www.hca.org/, 2000 State Route 208 Hawthorne, NJ
