Ronald Freemyer, age 88, of Toms River, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021.
Born in Richmond Hill (Queens) New York, in 1932. He & his family moved to around often as a child. He met his wife, Claire in 1951 in Rochelle Park, NJ. After dating for a few years, they married on November 4, 1956.
Ronald joined the National Guard in February of 1954 and was honorably discharged in February of 1956.
Living in Rochelle Park, Claire & Ron raised 3 boys, William, Thomas, and Daniel who were later to work in Ron’s Westwood Auto Radiator business which he began around 1971.
In 1979, Ron & Claire purchased their retirement home in Toms River, NJ. He closed his shop and retired in 1989.
During his younger years, his hobbies included gymnastics & hand balancing with his brother Robert. He and Claire enjoyed many nights gathering with their group of friends known as “The Cloud Bursters”. His most recent hobbies included singing as a baritone for the Barber Shop Quartet & occasionally writing his own music. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his brothers, Robert & Dennis.
He is predeceased by his wife Claire, and by his two sons William & Daniel.
He will be missed by his family and anyone who knows him.
